Pay East Montpelier Property Taxes by Credit Card, Debit Card or eCheck
For processing of current or delinquent property tax payments only. All payments will be applied to the oldest outstanding tax, first. All other payments must be made by cash or check. For questions please call Don Welch, East Montpelier Treasurer at 802-223-3313 x 207.
Once you begin the process by clicking on the “Noble Pay Portal” link below, you’ll be taken to the Noble Payment Technologies, LLC (Noble) website, which is working in partnership, but is not affiliated, with the Town of East Montpelier.
Make sure you have the following information:
• The parcel number related to the payment you are making.
• The amount ($) you are paying.
• For credit/debit payments, the name listed on the card, card account number, expiration date, and the security code on the back of the card.
• For eCheck, the name(s) on the account, routing number, account number, account type (checking or savings) and account class (business or personal).
If you wish to receive an email confirmation of your payment, be sure to provide your email address in the “Billing Address” section.
If you opt to use the Noble on-line payment process (other than eCheck), you will automatically be charged a processing fee based on the type of credit or debit card being used. NOTE: To determine the charge, you do not have to enter all of the information. You can enter just the amount you wish to pay and your credit/debit card number. After 9 digits are entered for your credit/debit card, the charge will be calculated and displayed at the top of the page. For example, a $100.00 payment could have a processing fee of $3.00 for a total payment equal to $103.00. If you wish to proceed, enter the remaining information and then click ‘Submit Payment’. For an eCheck payment, the cost is a flat $1.50. The Town does not charge or receive compensation for your use of the service.
FYI, there’s a pretty “cool” option in Noble’s payment process. If you are using a credit card, the Noble payment system automatically offers the option of using another form of payment (i.e., a debit card or payment by eCheck). At that stage, Noble will indicate the “savings” (reduction in the processing fee) you could incur by using an alternative form of payment besides a credit card.
If you have questions before or after making a payment, please call the East Montpelier Town Office at 802-223-3313. Otherwise, during the payment process, use the Noble online help service.
Due to the nature of the tax bills the Town of East Montpelier collects using this payment system, there are no refunds. If an overpayment is discovered, the taxpayer will have the option to apply the overage to the next tax installment or receive the overage amount by check.
