The elected Constables have the authority to serve civil process, assist the Health Officer, destroy unlicensed dogs, and similar duties. The Constables do not have law enforcement authority. The Constables receive an annual stipend. By vote of town residents at 2022 Town Meeting the office of constable will shift from an elected position to one appointed by the Selectboard as of March 2023.
