Need to Register to vote?

• Come to the Town Clerk’s office to complete an application;
• Register online at http://olvr.vermont.gov before the election;
• Vermont has same-day registration. Register at the polls on election day, get your ballot and vote!

The State of Vermont is mailing ballots during the week of September 23 to all active-registered voters. If you have not received your ballot by October 8, please contact Assistant Town Clerk, Heather Pagel at 802-223-3313 X 202 or office@eastmontpeliervt.org so that we can research the issue and get a ballot to you.

When you receive your ballot, please read the instructions carefully.

• There are questions on the BACK of your ballot so please be sure to vote both sides.
• Be certain to SIGN and date the Voter Certification Envelope that your ballot is returned in. Failure to do voids your ballot.

Ballots can be returned several ways:
• By mail by adding a postage stamp to the outer envelope;
• In hand to the Town Clerk during regular business hours;
• Deposit it into the secure blue drop box outside the Municipal Building no later than 5:00 PM on election day;
• Bring sealed envelope to the polls on election day to drop off; or
• Vote in person – bring that mailed ballot with you!

If you wish to vote in person on Election Day, please remember to bring your mailed ballot with you. If you forget it, you will be asked to sign an Affidavit before another ballot can be given to you.

Blind, deaf and other impaired voters
You are encouraged to use our Voter Accessibility System on election day. The system allows you to use various methods to cast your vote and prints your ballot with markings on it. The voter is then able to deposit their ballot in the ballot box. We’re happy to help you with this option! Non-impaired voters may also utilize this system.
