East Montpelier’s voting/polling location is at East Montpelier Elementary School, 665 Vincent Flats Rd, from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, on November 4th. Voters of East Montpelier may also request an absentee ballot by emailing office@eastmontpeliervt.org, or contact the Town Clerk’s office at 802-223-3313, ext. 202, on or before October 27th.

“SPECIAL MEETING NOVEMBER 4, 2025 ~ VOTING BY AUSTRALIAN BALLOT”

“The legal voters of the Central Vermont Career Center School District are hereby notified and warned to meet at their respective polling places on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, to vote by Australian ballot on the following articles of business:”

“Article 1: The Central Vermont Career Center School Board proposes to incur bonded indebtedness for the purpose of building a new technical center at the estimated total project cost of $149,000,000. The School Construction Aid Program is currently under suspension by the Vermont State Legislature. Therefore, 100% percent of the project shall be built at the school district’s cost without State participation. State funds may not be available at the time this project is otherwise eligible to receive State school construction aid. The district is responsible for all costs incurred in connection with any borrowing done in anticipation of State school construction aid.”

“Shall bonds of the Central Vermont Career Center School District in an amount not to exceed $149,000,000 be issued for the purpose of building a new technical center?”

Sidewalk Extension Project

This project will be a sidewalk project along Vermont Route 14, creating a safe and accessible pedestrian connection between the Upper and Lower Villages. This project represents a long-standing priority for our town and is essential for enhancing public safety, connectivity, and quality of life for our residents.

The current lack of a safe pedestrian route along Route 14 forces residents to walk on the shoulder of a busy state highway, putting their safety at risk. This is particularly concerning given the significant number of residents who walk or bike to access key locations such as the post office, the general store, rail trail, and other businesses. This sidewalk extension will provide a vital link, ensuring all members of our community—including children, seniors, and those with limited mobility—can travel safely between the two village centers.

Horn of the Moon culvert replacement was completed on 10/3/25 and road reopened! (It was closed on Tuesday, 10/7/25, for guardrail installation.)

Thanks to Gideon from Mangan Excavation LLC for nice work and quick turnaround!!

Horn of the Moon Culvert Replacement Construction is Complete – The culvert is reopened on 10/3/25!! The project started, July 22, 2025, and digging began on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Vendor set the box culvert on September 10, 2025. The road was put in 10/2/25. The culvert will be closed Tues, 10/7/25 for guard rails installation.
