Municipal Planning Grant(MPG)– Historic North Montpelier Village Master Plan- Awarded $29,500. Bid Submission deadline/ new due date is April 16, 2026 at 11am
CDBG-DR Grant for North Montpelier Orchard Valley Waldorf School, Inc Site– Developer Ready Feasibility Study/ Actionable Plan- We were awarded $100k. Submissions due April 20, 2026, at 11am

EECBG DREAM Grant Outreach Project for Decarbonization, Resilience, and Energy Affordability in East Montpelier is in progress! We were approved for additional funding of $23,758 2/18/26. (Take the DREAM Survey to be connected to resources here)
Speeding Solution Project for Center Rd, County Rd, Vincent Flats Rd (school) & Gallison Hill Rd- 1. Phase I = Install 8 Lighted Speed Signs with Data Collection, (Signs were delivered Nov 21, 2025.) 2. Phase II = Evaluate data for speed humps or other additional solutions. Additional 3 speed signs without data collection were already placed. (on Drake /Clark Road, Quaker/Vincent/Cherry Tree, and Towne Hill Rd end of Cherry Tree.) Setting up an EM & CVRPC Regional Transportation Safety Action Plan Meeting with Senior Transport Planner (doodle poll sent out).
VT Rt 14 Speeding Reduction Request to change the 50-MPH to 35-MPH from the Orchard Valley Waldorf School to North Montpelier – The Traffic Committee voted 12/10/25 to accept Traffic Operations’ recommendation to move the 35 mph transition south approximately 1,500,’ to a point about 210’ north of the driveway at 2501 VT Route 14N.
Road Erosion Inventory is completed REI Final Report is located (click here for report) Municipal Roads Grants in Aide funding $20k was awarded to the town on 4/7/26 for our projects (Sanders Circle and Coburn Rd.) to be completed by Sept 2026. From July 2027 forward submitted Letter of Intent LOI for next FY Grants in Aide project/s round of funding.

Municipal Office building updates: with grant a security system installed, heating thermostat and baseboard resolving freezing pipe issue, fixed flagpole, doors replaced, old AC holes in walls closed up, wood ramp redone, fixed bathroom and toilet replaced, re-carpeted old carpet, updated flooring and refinished wood floor, etc.
Leveraged online auctions & town auction to repurpose old town garage materials, office equipment like large printer, road crew equipment, and old vehicles which brought money back to the town!
Sold Vacant Town Property/ House and completed its Boundary Line Adjustments resulting in $150k back to the town and supported the housing initiative!
EECBG Grant for a new Electric Ford F150 Lightning vehicle for the Road Crew & municipal employees was delivered to the town 1/15/2026! and other updates to Road Crew Equipment Fleet.
Recreation Shelter – LWCF grant app was approved May 29th & site visit completed July 7th, Grants are Awarded from Feb-May 2026. Bid Submissions due May 11, 2026, at 11am. June 1, 2027 estimated construction start.
VTrans Transportation Alternatives (TAP) Application for the Sidewalk Extension Project on East side of Route 14 is submitted. Awarded $44k and $11k match on 3/30/26! Town Project Commitment Form emailed 4/7/26.
Vermont Municipal Climate Planning Guides Pilot Program Grant Application Submitted 12/31/25.
Fixed Municipal Parking EV Charger and it is now back in operation! 3/26/26 Applied for EV Charging Site Host opportunity & funding with The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) on 3/24/26.
