… PLEASE Help Green Up Our Community on May 3!
Join your neighbors and give back to our environment by picking up roadside and public space litter. It is fun, feels great to give and makes a huge impact in the health of our neighborhoods. Green Up Day is for public space litter, not for cleaning out your garage. Visit http://greenupvermont.org for full details and to find special celebrations near you.
Don’t forget lunch is back this year from 11-1pm at EMES and please drop off your green bags at EMES too.
Reach out with any questions. THANK YOU for those who have already reached out to volunteer and keep an eye out for neighbors picking up litter along the roads–some beginning as early as this week.

East Montpelier Green Up Day is May 3, 2025 Front Porch Forum Event Post
Looking out at snow today, it is hard to think ahead to May while enjoying snow fun! But deadlines are fast approaching, and it is never too early to start thinking about how to participate in the time-honored tradition of Green Up Day! The collection event will take place on Saturday May 3, 2025 from 9am until 1pm at East Montpelier Elementary School.
The iconic green trash bags will be available starting the week of April 21 at several locations throughout town including Bragg Farm, Dudley’s Store, Fox Market, Morse Farm and the Town Office Building. Now there is an app to coordinate and track progress too! (Access the app and information at https://greenupvermont.org).
In anticipation of the day, there are many ways to participate, with something for every talent. Work in groups or on your own, with the whole class or a group of friends – the main thing is to have fun and share your love for Green Up Day! Find details here GREEN UP DAY VERMONT or https://greenupvermont.org

Volunteers are needed beyond the traditional trash collecting along our scenic roads: to staff the East Montpelier Elementary School collection site to sort recyclables and transfer trash to trucks graciously provided by the town; to provide and drive your truck to pick up green bags along our roads; and to encourage your business, school or civic organizations to join in the effort too. Interested in volunteering please email me at csbeling@gmail.com or call 802 522 6690.
