With the WCUUSD board election complete, the next step in the merger process was a 5-town vote on the consolidated budget for the new school district. The budget vote was held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Also that day there was a vote on a series of amendments to the default WCUUSD articles of agreement.

May 21, 2019 Election for WCUUSD Board Members
The first election for people to serve on the Washington Central Unified Union School District board was held on May 21, 2019. East Montpelier had two positions up for election, a two-year seat and a three-year seat.
The organizational meeting for the Washington Central Unified Union School District was held on Monday, April 8, 2019, 6:00 p.m. in the U-32 auditorium. All items passed, including the use of Australian Ballot for budgets and board member elections.
The substantive portion of the initial organizational meeting, held February 19, 2019, was postponed to after an event certain — the issuance of a decision in the Act 46/merger case by the Franklin Superior Court on the request for a preliminary injunction or stay.
