The first meeting of the Washington Central Unified Union School District is now set for Tuesday, February 19, 2019, 6:00 p.m. in the U-32 auditorium.
Due to an agreement reached in one of the Act 46 lawsuits, the anticipated January 14, 2019 special meeting of the new Washington Central Unified Union School District (WCUUSD) has been canceled. The January 9, 2019 public hearing on alternative articles of agreement has also been canceled. More information will be provided when available.
From Superintendent Bill Kimball on January 8, 2019:
Hello Washington Central Educational Community –
I wanted to give you all a brief update of some information we received late yesterday, Monday, January 7, 2019, regarding Act 46/merger process. Vermont’s Agency of Education informed us that the Attorney General’s Office had reached an interim scheduling agreement with some districts who filed suit. The interim scheduling agreement will require your new union school district (WCUUSD) to hold its organizational meeting beginning in the third week in February, rather than the warned date of January 14, 2019. We also learned that warning for Amendments to the Articles of Agreement would be delayed as well.
After learning this information last night, the Articles of Agreement Committee decided to cancel the Public Forum for the proposed Amendments to the Articles previously scheduled for this Wednesday, January 9th at 6 pm at U-32. As soon as this meeting is rescheduled we will let you know.
To recap: the District Organizational Meeting that was warned for January 14, 2019, at U-32 is postponed until the third week of February.

Thank you for your patience as we move through the merger process.
