This is a reminder to property owners in East Montpelier that the second installment of the 2025/26 property taxes is due on or before Friday, May 15, 2026.

Please note that on Friday, May 15th, in-person payments will be accepted at the office until 12:00 pm, during normal business hours.
After that time, payments can be put in the blue drop box next to the handicap ramp or through the mail slot in the back door.
Payments by mail received after the 15th, but bearing an official, legible USPS postmark of May 15th or earlier, will be considered timely. Otherwise, any 2025/26 property taxes unpaid after the 15th will be considered delinquent and subject to a one-time 8% penalty in addition to the standard 1% interest fee. An additional 1% interest fee will be charged on the 16th of each succeeding month until paid.

Please note that to offer these alternative payment options without affecting property taxes, you will be charged a convenience fee. For Credit/Debit card payments, the fee is 2.65%. For checking/savings account withdrawals, the fee is a flat $1.50. Please note that there is a minimum fee of $3.00.
