* Please note that the projected homestead education rates contained in the town and school district annual reports were no longer correct by the time the reports were printed and delivered. As a result of revised state revenue expectations, the preliminary legislative depiction of the 2021/22 education rate environment drives down the expected rates. The FY2022 EM Tax Rate Worksheet for Town Meeting reflects this updated information. WCUUSD provided an updated homestead education rate sheet covering all five district towns: February 4, 2021 WCUUSD Revised Education Rate Sheet As always, education rate projections will likely continue to shift until the rates are finalized in June.

What You Need to Know About East Montpelier
The following town offices were up for election at 2021 Town Meeting, March 2, 2021:
Town Moderator, 1-year term
Selectboard Member, 3-year term
Selectboard Member, 2-year term
Selectboard Member, 2 of 3-year term
Lister, 3-year term
Auditor, 3-year term
First Constable, 1-year term
Planning Commissioner, 3-year term
Planning Commissioner, 3-year term
Planning Commissioner, 3-year term
There were 8 Washington Central Unified Union School District school board positions up for election as part of the March 2, 2021 Australian Ballot voting. All school board positions are voted on by all 5 towns. There is one school board seat (with a 3-year term) available for residents of East Montpelier.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic petitions for elected office were not required for 2021. Those interested in running were advised to contact Town Clerk Rosie Laquerre (clerk@eastmontpeliervt.org; 223-3313 x 201). Consent forms (authorizing your name to appear on the ballot) were due to Rosie by 5 p.m. on Monday, January 25th.
Petitions for proposed articles on the 2021 Town Meeting Warning, with a minimum of 5% valid signatures, were due to Rosie by 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 14th; Rosie recommended 130 signatures for these petitions.
