2023 Town Meeting is an in-person event held at the East Montpelier Elementary School, 665 Vincent Flats Road, with voting available on Australian ballot items from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Town Meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. A potluck lunch will be served in the cafeteria. See below for more information.
Masks are encouraged, and they will be available. We want everyone in our community to feel safe attending town meeting, and many people are immunocompromised, live with someone who is immunocompromised, or would otherwise benefit from widespread mask use in a crowded indoor space.

2023 Special Town Meeting April 25, 2023 (To be voted by Australian Ballot)
An Special Town Meeting is scheduled for on April 25, 2023 to vote on the $46,764 appropriation for Kellogg-Hubbard Library Appropriation by Australian Ballot. The election will be held at the East Montpelier Municipal Building from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Town Forum is scheduled for April 17, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. to conduct a Public Hearing and Informational Meeting on Article 1, Kellogg-Hubbard Library Appropriation.

Town Forum is scheduled for Monday, March 6, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in-person at the East Montpelier Municipal Building with remote attendance option offered via Zoom.
2023 Town Meeting
Town Meeting to be held Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in the East Montpelier Elementary School gymnasium.
Ballots for Town Meeting and the WCUUSD Annual Meeting will be mailed to all registered-active voters so that they are received by February 15. Please contact the Clerk’s office to request a CVCC ballot.
Completed ballots may be returned to the Clerk’s office prior to Town Meeting by drop off in the outdoor secure ballot box, in person or via mail with appropriate postage affixed. Voted ballots may also be brought to the polling place during polling hours. In order to ensure timely arrival, please do not mail your ballots after February 27, 2023.
Australian Ballot voting is from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the East Montpelier Elementary School library. For information about early or absentee balloting, please contact Town Clerk Rosie Laquerre at (802) 223-3313 x 201 or clerk@eastmontpeliervt.org.

The education tax rates are not yet final as the school budget is not yet final. We will update the tax rate worksheet with new projections as they are received. The rates listed in the town report and WCUUSD annual report were the best available at the time of publishing, but will almost certainly be outdated by town meeting. Regardless, the education rate environment is not set until late June. Any projections made in advance of the final legislative decisions are just that — good faith projections based on the information available at the time.
