2024 Town Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 9:30a.m.
2024 Town Meeting is an in-person event held at the East Montpelier Elementary School, 665 Vincent Flats Road, with voting available on Australian ballot items from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Town Meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. A potluck lunch will be served in the cafeteria. See below for more information.
Masks are encouraged, and they will be available. We want everyone in our community to feel safe attending town meeting, and many people are immunocompromised, live with someone who is immunocompromised, or would otherwise benefit from widespread mask use in a crowded indoor space.

Track your ballots! With an account on Vermont’s My Voter Page, you can request ballots and track when they are mailed out and when they have been checked-in by the Town Clerk. 2024 Town Forum
Town Forum is scheduled for Monday, March 4, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in-person at the East Montpelier Municipal Building with remote attendance option offered via Zoom.
2024 Town Meeting
Town Meeting to be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in the East Montpelier Elementary School gymnasium.
Ballots for Town Meeting and the WCUUSD Annual Meeting will be mailed to all registered-active voters by February 14. Please contact the Clerk’s office to request a Presidential Primary ballot noting your choice of Democratic or Republican, or to receive a CVCC ballot.
Voted ballots may be returned to the Clerk’s office prior to Town Meeting:
- Drop off in the outdoor secure blue ballot box until 5:00 PM on election day
- In person until 5:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2024cki
- Via mail so that your ballot arrives at the East Montpelier post office on Tuesday, March 5 before 4:30 PM
- Bring them to the East Montpelier Elementary School on Town Meeting Day

The education tax rates are not yet final as the school budget is not yet final. The tax rate will be updated when the school budget and corresponding tax rates are finalized. The rates listed in the town report and WCUUSD budget presentation were the best available at the time of publishing but are provided for estimation only. The education rate is typically available late June. Any projections made in advance of the final legislative decisions are estimates based on the best information available at the time.
